Northern Ireland Ploughing Association (NIPA) will hold their 80th International Ploughing Championships on Friday, 27th and Saturday, 28th September, on land kindly granted by The Hunniford Family, Lurgan Road leading onto Plantation Road Gilford BT63 6JJ.
Northern Ireland Ploughing Association (NIPA) will again hold their International Ploughing Championships on Friday, 27th and Saturday, 28th September, on land kindly granted by the Hunniford family, at Lurgan Road leading onto Plantation road Gilford BT63 6JJ.
The event is set to be a great day out for all the family and will showcase qualified competitors from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland competing in six different classes including World Style Conventional, World Style Reversible, Vintage Classes and Horse Class.
As well as World, European and International class ploughing we will also host the Northern Ireland Vintage Ploughing Competition which will see qualifiers
from this event representing Northern Ireland at European Vintage level.
There will be a horse ploughing class on the Saturday and this will give spectators a view of the heritage where ploughing started with horses and ploughmen showing their skills from very young to the more mature competitor.
This year we have the pleasure of hosting a tractor pulling competition on Saturday, 28th September and entries are available for this event as well as a fun dog show so bring along your furry friends and be in with a chance to get a rosette. Your gate price will give you free entry into the dog show.
There will also be competitions for the children with a wellie boot decorating and colouring in competition.
We will also host the Food Heartland producers as well as many other crafts and food producers and something for all the family.
